CEILINGS, SOFFITS, & SIDING
Ultimate Pool Remodel offers the following 3 options:
1. Cypress is naturally resistant to decay, insects, and Florida’s humidity. It is lightweight, widely available in tongue-and-groove boards, and stains well. It's generally cost-effective with warm, knotty grain that stains beautifully. Cypress has a long history as a preferred wood for Florida porches and lanais.
2. Plantation Teak has outstanding resistance to weather, moisture, and insects. It is stable with minimal movement; easy to work with; accepts finishes well. This is a premium wood, but it is long-lasting and attractive.
3. Cedar is durable for outdoor use when properly sealed; cedar is a bit softer but still popular for appearance.
Wood Type | Durability | Cost | Aesthetic |
---|---|---|---|
Cypress | Excellent | Affordable | Warm, knotty, classic |
Teak | Superior | Expensive | Golden, elegant |
Cedar | Good (if sealed) | Moderate | Classic, soft grain |
